Zak-n-Bur is our attempt here at www.ContaminatedLAND.co.uk at an 'E-zine'. However rather than trying to compete with the mainstream, our aim is to satisfy the requirements of 'The man on the Clapham Omnibus'
This mythical person (dreamt up by a English Judge at the turn of the Century) is the achitypal man in the street / reasonable bloke. He is used as the test of what a reasonable man would do or feel.
As we don't have access to a Clapham Omnibus, we are using the services of two local cool cats who hang around the neighbourhood of Clapham (an infamous area thanks to a TV film called 'Up the Junction' and a certain Welshman who blew his chances there one night last Autumn). Anyway these 2 cats - Zak (a golden brown burmese who turns somersaults on stairs for kicks) and his buddy - Bur (a chocolate brown burmese who catches and eats honey bees for kicks) are well up on current environmental trends and will be reporting on them on a sporadic fortnightly basis.
We would warn readers of a tender disposition that although Zak-n-Bur may not be true 'Gonzo' reporters (unlike Rage boy at EGR) they do exhibit signs of incipient 'Tourettes Syndrome' and can be quite expressive and vocal in what they feel and say !
The first edition of the 'E-zine' was published by the folks at Free-pint a fortnighly newsletter for information professionals - with a circulation just shy of 20,000 subscribers. However if you missed it we have it here squirreled away on the site as the Free Pint guide to sources of Environmental information
